MSNBC Busted: Doctored Clip From Romney-Ryan Rally Exposed
Greg Hengler writes at Townhall:
A clip from a recent Romney/Ryan rally has recently been played over and over at MSNBC highlighting what appears to be an embarrassing moment on the campaign trail for Governor Romney.
Originally aired on Wednesday's "Morning Joe," the clip shows Paul Ryan introducing Romney as the MSNBC-added text appears on the screen proclaiming that the crowd is shouting "Ryan!" Romney gets the mic and asks the crowd to say "Romney/Ryan!"
In some cases, however, a video is worth a thousand lies. Hengler writes:
Then the Blaze received a call from one of the rally attendees:
During Thursday‘s edition of TheBlaze TV’s "Pat & Stu," one caller gives her account of the campaign rally.
“The crowd was yelling,” caller Sherry recounts, “the crowd was screaming ‘Romney! Romney!’ and Romney, being the gentleman [he is], we can‘t get in his head because he’s so stinking nice, he stopped us to add ‘Romney-Ryan.’”
Watch this video, which includes undoctored footage from C-SPAN that contradicts the MSNBC "report."
This evidence of an MSNBC-doctored tape that hurts the Romney-Ryan campaign suggests, yet again, why the establishment media is the formerly mainstream media.
Not only does the formerly mainstream media operate in alienation against the defining mainstream of journalism (which is to truthfully report the facts), but it also operates in alienation against the enduring rules of freedom (see, for example, the Declaration and U.S. Constitution).
You can't sustain freedom if media are poisoning the well and slanting voter perception with bad information.
This kind of poor media performance suggests the conclusion that the establishment press has become a menace not just to journalism but also to freedom.
It might even be the vanguard of politicians who reject the Declaration and shred the Constitution. These would be people who by their own choices place themselves outside of, and even against, the enduring American mainstream vision-for-freedom.
In this way, an establishment can embrace extremism even while calling itself "mainstream."
Where does this leave us?
The establishment media should be regarded with healthy doses of critical distance, as one might resist a shady used-car salesman, a sullied preacher, or a manipulating politician who walks on water.
And an authentic, mainstream journalism committed to facts and freedom should continue to takes it place.
