Breaking: Shooting at Family Research Council -- Updates
ABC Channel 7 (WJLA) is reporting "bomb dogs on the scene" of a shooting at the Family Research Council in northwest Washington, D.C. WND
Says on-scene reporter Jennifer Donelan, "We do have one person shot and sources tell me that he is a security guard here at the Family Research Council. . . .
"They do believe in the union of one man and one woman, so they are anti-civil unions, anti-gay marriage."
WJLA is reporting that the "shooting leaves security guard wounded."
Update: Fox News is reporting that the gunman posed as an intern and that he shot a security guard "after expressing disagreement with the conservative group's policy positions."
Update: HuffPo comment: "I hope the gaurd [sic] recovers quickly and fully. I hate to see an employee get hurt for the crimes of the employer. Not to say I want the people who run the Family Research Council shot but . . . . . . . . well . . . . . . . I would like them to go away voluntarily forever."
Update: WND reports:
A public information officer for the Washington police department said the shooting happened about 10:45 a.m. Eastern.
“A security guard confronted the suspect, which is a matter of their policy. The suspect did fire upon the security guard. The security guard was struck, and transported to a hospital,” the police report said.
The security guard was listed in stable condition, police said.
“The suspect was apprehended on the scene and taken into custody.”
